Baby Room News

October was packed full of exciting and fun events, and our babies loved them all, especially our sensory themed play.

Here is a round up below of what we did in October:

  • Transport Learning and Beep Beep Day: Our babies did lots of transport arts and crafts and we sang some new songs about going to the shops on our little bikes
  • Welcome Autumn: We loved our sensory baskets which were filled up with various leaves and autumnal colour items
  • Happy Birthday LINKS: Our babies stamped their hands and feet with paint to created some lovely cards and posters for our rooms
  • Halloween: Our babies made the most lovely Halloween decorations for our rooms and they enjoyed the texture and feelings of the pumpkins we brought in to show them. They were curious as to what it actually was!

Wobbler Room News

This month we prepared for Autumn with arts and crafts and exploring the leaves and new textures.  As it’s starting to get dark we also enjoyed relaxing with the classical music and getting cosy in the book corner reading our books.

Our favourite toy is the big car so we had lots of fun playing with this and the other trucks, cars and airplanes in our room.  We also did some painting using the wheels of the car and made a circuit for the cars on the floor.

We created lots of Halloween arts and crafts this month like ghosts and spiders.  We had lots of dress up too and will make a pumpkin.

Toddler Room News

This month we focused on Halloween and made some scary spiders and Halloween decorations.  We also had a lovely fancy dress day to mark Halloween, and played some spooky Halloween games.  Pumpkin carving was lots of fun too and we enjoyed the feeling of the inside of the pumpkins.

We went spider hunting in the garden and played with the autumn leaves.  We also made some Autumn arts and crafts.

Our toddler’s loved their new activity of painting little furry pompoms and running them over coloured pieces of paper to make different slashes of colour. We found out that creating your own individual pieces of art is so much fun.

Preschool Room News

Some events we enjoyed in Preschool included:

* Links Birthday Party

* Autumn

* Beep Beep Day

* Diwali Day

* Trick or Treat for Temple Street

We started this month with our Links 15th birthday party, where we got a visit from Mr Links and got to meet our brand new class bears Slinky and Teddy, (names picked out of a hat and names by Anna & Layla). During ransport and Beep Beep Day, the children enjoyed discovering all the types of transport, such as trains, planes, taxis, buses.  We made stop signs and traffic lights and enjoyed playing the traffic lights game. We also spent the week working on making a city from a cardboard box.

Other activities were based around Autumn. We built on our nature box and gathered more leaves. We made a tree and each put our own handprint onto it. We used the colours we see in Autumn like yellow, brown, red and orange to decorate it.

We also celebrated Diwali day (festival of lights) and made a mandala with paint and used our hands and feet to make it look awesome.

Our Halloween party was fun, as we got to dress up and wear costumes and making decorations for our room. Their were lots of ghosts, spiders, monsters and bats flying around the place! We will also make some monster cakes and had some face paint.

Next month we will learn all about our community the people who help us. We’ll talk about all the places around our creche and jobs like doctors, vets, Garda. We will also learn about animals and hibernation as winter is coming.

Afterschool Room News

During October we took part in transport week and Beep Beep Day, doing arts and crafts and puzzles to learn the different parts of a car.  We learned that transport can take us to places very far away and also which modes of transport are the fastest.

During Autumn Day we were decorating the door with brown leaves that fell from the trees and painted some leaves too. We also did some leaf printing.  We are also making a nature box.

For Diwali Day we painted a cardboard box and coloured chalks to celebrate the festival of lights.

Finally for Halloween we will paint our faces and cook some cakes for our bake sale for temple street hospital as well as making Halloween decorations.
