Welcome to the first of our Summer Newsletters! We like to think that here at Links, we have fun all year-round, but there is something a little extra special about Summertime.

This month we have kicked Summer off with a bang! The children have enjoyed going Camping, we used our imaginations and creativity to create camps in our rooms and outdoor spaces. The children loved creating campfires and even toasted “marshmallows” around the campfire while serenading our lovely Educarers with campfire songs.

Then, it was time for Art Attack! I’m sure all you lucky parents got to see some of the amazing creations that were made this week. The children used nature as their inspiration to create all types of wild art and took part in lots of different competitions to show off their drawing, colouring and painting skills.

The last week of July was all about our Young Scientists and magical witches and wizards! We experimented with all sorts of crazy, colourful materials and topped the week off with a dress-up party.

Fun, Fitness and Links Olympic Games

We know how important Health and Fitness is for your children. Here at Links, we focus on healthy eating and getting plenty of movement and outdoor time all year-round. This month, we took some time to learn even more – this newsletter will be chock – full of mini Olympians!

This week, we learned all about the Food Pyramid. We learned why healthy eating is so important and even got to play a game where we tried all types of healthy exotic foods! We were so brave and adventurous and had great fun trying new things. We even had a cocktail making party!

We had fun trying out different types of yoga – copying our Educarers and pretending to be animals. Our favourite part was the dance party where everyone got to hit the dance floor and show off their moves.

We learned about what the Olympics is and Olympic athletes from across the world.

Then, we made all of our own torches, bracelets and medals to get ready for the Links Olympic Games! After learning about the Olympics all week, we were so excited to compete in our very own Games. Each child found something new to try and enjoy. We hope you enjoy the pictures!
