Finally, the summer is here! The days are getting brighter and the evenings are getting longer too. With restrictions changing and
people able to meet extended family members outdoors, it feels like a very welcoming change.

Our children had such fun during our monthly events in May. They were so engaging and took a real interest in our curriculum topics.
We loved Firefighter Day, International Nurses Day and World Baking Day and for Rock N Roll Day, we had such fun dancing and
singing! We are delighted now have all our children back together. Each day is different and we make such it is jam packed with lots of
fun. Keep an eye out on our Social Media Channels for photos of our daily activities.
In this newsletter, we have shared some insight into the activities from each of our rooms that has taken place during the month of
May.
At the end of May, over 70 members from Team Links took part in a Links 10KM Fun Run, were over €2000 was raised for The Jack &
Jill Foundation. Thank you to you all for sponsoring and supporting us in raising these much needed funds for a very worthy cause.

Activities from our Baby Room

It has been a height of activity and fun in our Baby Room during the month of May.

We welcomed the warmer weather and we celebrated Earth Week by going out and being one with nature. We watched the little bugs going, and
we made some flowers and displayed them outside our rooms.

For Picnic Day we sat out with our toys and had our snack outdoors in our mats. We sang songs and Virginia read us a book about animals and the
noises that the animals make.

For our Fire Fighter Appreciation Day, we helped Mona by practising our fire drills and we went out to the garden – we were so brave.

We celebrated Nurses by making some lovely pictures of our nurses and added some love hearts to appreciate all the work they do for us, especially
during the pandemic.

We made a lovely all about me book using animal handprints and some information about us all. Our Educarers really put lots of thought into these. All
parents are welcome to see these, which are situated by the Baby Room door.

We also updated our birthday wall and family tree as we welcomed some new children to our room – welcome Molly Rose, Georgio and Nicholas!

For our Moon themed Day, we made rockets shooting from Ireland to the moon.

Our Wobbler Room News

For Earth Day, our wobblers made flowers out of cake cups
and coloured them in whatever colours they wanted. Iraxte
put all the crayons on the table and let them choose. We
had some very interesting flowers, but our families loved
them. We talked about the colours on earth and about
grass and rivers and lakes.

For Picnic Day we had a picnic in the room as it was raining,
and we placed our blankets on the floor and enjoyed our
snacks there. We even brought some toys over to enjoy.
For Fire Fighter Day we played pretend and used our hats
as helmets and pretended we were fire fighters. We used
the car in our rom as a fire truck and built a pretend fire
and used water to put it out. We sang “the wheels on the
fire engine goes round and round”; even if we did make it
up as we went along.

For Nurses Appreciation Day we made some lovely pictures
to hang in our class room to show our support for the
nurses and doctors helping us through this pandemic. We
also made nurses hats so we could pretend that we are
nurses and help our Educarers to get better. Ines even got
us some plasters so we could pretend to fix our friends boo
boos.

This month we welcomed jack to our room and said
goodbye to Elise.
We also talked about health food and the difference healthy
and bad food makes us feel. We used our toy food to show
what kind of food is good and what kind we should only
have as a treat .

Tales from our Toddler Room

For Earth Day, our Toddlers found a snails outside and called it Sammy. They really looked after Sammy and fed it.

Sammy also did some exercises in the garden and at one stage we even found a friend for him Our toddlers watched as Sammy walked up the window and watched the trail it
left behind.

For National Picnic Day we went outside and enjoyed the sun and we brought our picnic outside and ate apples and bananas and some oranges. We had a lovely day and we
built a big tower from blocks up to our heads and then we knocked them down.

To celebrate the Fire Fighters, we made a big poster of a fire truck. We painted it together as a team like all the fire fighters, who work as a team. We placed chairs in a row and
pretended we were sitting in the fire truck, and we made the noise of the sirens.

For National Nurses Day we made cards with pictures of love hearts and nurses on them to show our appreciation for the hard work and dedication they have shown all of us
through all this time.

This month we started to really focus on shapes and colours we made our very own flash cards and practise every day ask us at home if you want, we are very
confident.

We have been really focusing on flash cards this month learning about everything from animals to people.

We welcomed Elise colcannon this month and said goodbye to Ollie as he starts his journey to Preschool.

Pre-school Room News

Preschool One
For Earth day we learned the importance of loving our environment. We worked on Earth Day by using flash cards about the earth. We made arts and crafts we really enjoyed
painting the place where we lived even though some of us are from all over the word, we all come from earth.

In our classroom we made puzzles about the earth. We also talked about recycling so we can save our earth for longer.

We also talked about seeing the moon and sun from earth and haw the sun makes things light and moon make things dark. For Picnic Day we enjoyed having our snack outside we sat on the mat and sang songs and listened to the Educarers tell us about how they would have picnics on the beach at home.

Fire Fighter day was such a good day. We read books about how brave fire fighters were and how they got ready to go on their fire engines and all the work it took to keep there fire
engines safe. We also learned about their protective clothing and how it helped them in the fire.
Our children made crowns so we could pretend to be fire fighters and we put fingerprints in our scrap book so we can remember this day.

For Nurse Day we used our nurses role play set to pretend we work in a hospital and we took turns pretending that were nurses and patients.

We have also continued to learn about Spanish with colours and numbers we have been dancing, enjoying messy play with play dough, rice, pasta, water sand and foam. We have
also been enjoying the new sunshine by bringing our learning outside with games such as the floor is lava racing piggy in the middle.

Preschool Two
For Earth Day we made a scale of all the planets and talked about where earth fits in. We made up a new song about earth and planets and every day we do a competition to see
who can sing the song the loudest. We love this and find it fascinating. We also talked about were on earth we live and
what places we have visited.

For Picnic Day we did something different and had a table picnic. As we had no blankets, we put all our tables together and ate our lunch together. We had fun and played games
and listened to fun music. Some of us even had a little dance. Fire Fighter Day was a great day to mark our heroes. We made the fire hats and used hi vis coats and we pretended to
be real life fire fighters. We had so much fun. Mona and Sabrina even brought us out to the real fire point so we could see where we could go if we were real fire fighters. We had a
game where we would crawl through and catch the person
with fire on their back and put the fire out – this was very exciting.

For Nurses Day we dressed up and pretended were nurses. We also enjoyed lots of arts a crafts and talked about times when we have ever visited a doctor or nurse.
We were also learning about fairies and princesses, and we read our favourite books. It was so amazing chatting away about it and all the girls want to be princesses when they
grow up.

We also talked a lot about Europe with our books. Our favourite country was Paris and we made our own Eiffel Tower with sticks and flags from different countries too.
