Activities from our Baby Room

Our babies were truly entertained all month long. We started off the month with some amazing colourful pancakes made by our wonderful Educarers, which were delicious and fun to look at.

World Book Day was very special in the Baby Room as baby Oscar brought in some very nice books. These books helped him settle in as they reminded him of home. We especially liked “The Presidents’ Glasses” story.

For International Women’s Day we celebrated by make some purple footprints and giving them to the special women in our lives. We also made some amazing memory art by putting all the foot prints we made all together so we could see how we have grown since starting in the Baby Room.

We celebrated St Patrick’s Day by wearing our lovely green clothes and singing and dancing to some great Irish music. We made a lovely card for Mother’s Day and celebrated how we all loved our mammies and grannies. We had a great time getting out to the garden and enjoyed some nice sunshine too.

Stories from our Wonderful Wobbler Room

We started the month with Pancake Tuesday and we made some yummy pancakes and decorated them with smiley faces and enjoyed them for our tea.

For World Book Day we read our favourite books and spent the day listening to stories told to us by our lovely Educarers. For International Women’s Day we made some beautiful artwork and enjoyed doing big artwork, using the colour purple. We had such a good time celebrating St Patricks Day and we all dressed up in our favourite green clothes and made some lovely artwork. We made a leprechaun face board that we could stick our faces into and sang some lovely Irish songs and danced in the garden. Rafal made us a special treat of pizza so we wouldn’t miss out on Pizza Friday.

For Mother’s Day we made our mammies and grannies an amazing cards and spent lots of time making this picture. We even picked our own colours and it made our mums very happy when we gave them the cards.

This month we also celebrated Spring and we were delighted to welcome the good weather. We ate snacks in the garden and wished our Educarer Juan Luiz a very Happy Birthday.

Tales from our Toddler Room

March has been full of activities and celebrations here in the toddler room. We welcomed our new staff member Beatrice and started the month by eating yummy pancakes to support Mental Health Ireland.

We have started to prepare ourselves for pre-school by learning how to put on our own coats, shoes and socks. On World Book Day we read some lovely stories. Our favourites were “Guess how much I love you” and “The Gruffalo”.

We were working on an activity around insects such as painting spiders and butterflies and we made lots of ants and hid them around the room.

St Patricks Day was a very special week where we learned about stories and the traditions of Ireland. We made a big leprechaun and painted him green, and we all wore green clothes and green shamrocks.

We are learning about animals and which ones can fly, swim, walk or run and we made different footprints of different animals and put them around our room.

We celebrated Mother’s Day by writing a letter to each mom and telling them how much we love them.

During the last month of march we were working on the moon learning about its shape and colour so maybe when its dark at home our parents can show us the moon and how bright it shines.

Pre-School Room News

Preschool 1 had a lot of fun in March! We learned about where our teachers come from, our Irish culture, about St Patrick and about what’s in our garden! We learned about the different parts of Spain where our teachers (Fernando, Irene and Brais) come from like Basque country, Galicia and Andalucia. We made traditional wizards and witches from Galicia, Berets from Basque country and flags to celebrate Andalusia’s Day. Then we started to learn all about Irish culture while we prepared for St Patricks Day celebrations. We had a lot of celebrating this month!

We celebrated World Book Day by dressing up in amazing costumes and bringing our favourite storybooks to school with us for Educarer Fernando to read to everybody. Then we celebrated our friends Conor’s big 3rd birthday. We celebrated International Women’s Day by wearing purple and making purple ribbons. For St Patricks Day we made leprechaun masks with paper plates and used green and orange tissue paper and glue to make the Irish flag. We painted our hands green and made clovers to decorate our classroom. We made magic coins for a pot full of gold to go under our rainbow and did a sensory bag with green water where we had to find the gold coins inside with Educarer Irene. We also learned about St Patrick and how he scared away all the snakes from Ireland.

Then we were noticing the bees in the garden, so we started learning all about bugs in our gardens. We painted bumblebees, grasshoppers, snails, caterpillars, and ladybirds. We also loved reading the Hungry Caterpillar, one of our favourite stories. We also painted our hands to make a rose for our Mammys for Mothers Day and made a card too. We finished off March by learning all about the Zoo animals, like tigers and elephants with educarer Brais. We loved pretending to be these animals and making all the sounds too.

In Pre-school 2, we worked on the zoo and we shared our story’s about going the zoo with our parents. The children picked their favourite animals and talked about what the animals eat and what their babies are called. We also enjoyed some yummy pancakes and put on some lovely toppings and made some great smiley faces.

For World Book Day we all brought in our favourite books and read them to each other – it was great to see what the children liked to read at home.

There were a lot of birthday parties in March, so we decided to turn this into our topic for the week and enjoy Birthday Week. We asked children their birth months and ages and what was their favourite cake and we sang songs related to birthdays and we had a pretend birthday party for the whole class.

St Patricks Day celebrations was full of fun. We talked about why St Patrick was so important in Ireland we showed the children pictures of parades and leprechaun. We made some lovely art with forks and made a golden pot and some shamrocks.

The children were really enjoying dinosaurs and we had great fun talking about dinosaurs. We made dinosaur fossils out of playdough, and we went looking for them in the sand, pretending we were archaeologists. The children brought in books about dinosaurs, and we made dinosaurs out of Lego. We went to the garden on a big hunt to see if we could find one.

We got our lovely pictures taken and we all showed our lovely smiles.

We made our mums some lovely cards to celebrate Mother’s Day to show them how much we love them.

This month we also celebrated Ella, Leah, Ada, Vicki, and Alex’s birthdays and we made cookies and crowns for each child.
