What a fun few months we have had.
We kick started the new year of 2022 with our New Years Resolutions and enjoyed exploring our 5 senses, the human body and the human skeleton, as well as the circus. Our children also loved National Puzzle Day and creating some very cool inventions during Inventors Day. In February, we celebrated Chinese New Year, St Valentines Day and enjoyed Balance Day and had so much fun for Carnival Day.
Keep an eye out on our Social Media Channels for photos of our daily activities.
In this newsletter, we have shared some insight into the activities from each of our rooms that has taken place during the month of January and February. We hope you enjoy browsing through them.

Activities from our Baby Room

Our babies have been very interested in animals and especially the sounds they make. So we enjoyed different activities showing them how the animals make sounds and what their footprints look like. They really enjoyed putting their feet in the paint to make their own footprints, making the tickly and laugh.
We explored the differences between the language of animals and human language. We also noticed a lot of our babies started to make attempts to sound our words such as Mama and Dada, so we did some activities to encourage this. We started doing some sign language to help the babies develop there learning and speech too and they are enjoying this.
We celebrated St Valentine’s Day by making some lovely flowers and hearts and decorating the room with little red foot prints. We also made some cards to give to our loved ones. This was very special as for a lot of our babies, this was their first St Valentine’s Day. We celebrated two special birthdays in the room baby Isabel and Educarer Isabel and we had lots of fun singing and dancing.
Colours are strongly related to emotions, and we wanted to use Carnival Day to make some colourful masks so the babies could be stimulated by all the bright colours. We made a lot of sensory bottles with different materials and used lights to show how colours can come in lots of ways. The babies really enjoyed the light shows and this was a great activity to do before sleep time as it really relaxed the children.
We welcomed our babies Emily and Oscar in January and we hope they are having a great time with us here in babies.

Stories from our Wonderful Wobbler Room

In February, we had many fun events such as Balance Day where we made circuits with the mega blocks in the garden, Mini Beasts Day, St Valentines Day, Spring and Carnival Day.
We worked on colours and had a Rainbow Day and learned new colours and read books about finding the rainbow and the pot of gold. We also learned the Rainbow Song.
Our children are so interested in transport and we really liked making pictures and reading books on airplanes. We went out to the garden and watched the planes go by and pretended we were waving at the people on board. We explored air transport such as hot air balloons, helicopters and jets.
We worked on different shapes and made caterpillars. Using different shapes, we used circles for his head and triangles for his body. Some of us didn’t want to make caterpillars, so we made helicopters. We also made a house out of shapes. We used our new jigsaws to make stamps and paint in a different way and we made a long train using these stamps.
On St Valentines’ Day we made some lovely cards for our parents and siblings and we enjoyed working with heart shapes.
We started to talk about Spring and we made a collage with our handprints to make flowers and butterflies. We talked about new baby animals and read a book about the farm.
We were able to play with the snow when the storm came and we brought some indoors and watched it melt.

Tales from our Toddler Room

Our Toddlers have been working on our body and we have been talking about the five senses. We start by smelling lot of different strong smells such as vanilla, lemon, lavender, and spices some smelt really nice. Some smells we didn’t like.
We then moved on to our sense of touch and cooked some spaghetti and ran it through our fingers. We smelt it and we concluded it didn’t really have a smell.
We then listened to seashells to see could we hear the ocean and we listened to new songs and story’s – this made us feel very happy.
We celebrated St Valentine’s Day by writing letters to our families and friend and made some lovely art to decorate our room. We made cards to give to the people we loved, we made some Rice Krispy buns and had a lovely day.
For our Spring theme, we made so many lovely things to help us celebrate, such as flowers, butterflies, and a big house where our flowers can live. We created a huge rainbow with our fingers to help us recognise all the different colours.
We celebrated Carnival Day by wearing costumes and having a big party with singing and dancing.
