Activities from our Baby Room

The baby room had a very exciting and fun time in March. We welcomed a lot of new friends to our class; Sean, Lucas, Max and Zoe.

We changed our family tree from a Winter theme to Spring theme. We started March by learning all about movements through nature. We made our whiteboard into a big book, ‘’Once upon a time, there was a baby that started walking and walking and he discovered the movement of…”. Our babies learned about the movement of the sea waves, floating leaves, the clouds moving in the sky and our own feet. We made clouds with cotton wool and did a lot of painting with our hands and feet with the help of Educarer Maria.

For International Women’s Day we made superwoman with our handprints! Then we started to learn more about ourselves. We painted coats with bubble wrap paper using the same colour as our real coats. We made our favourite animals with our footprints, and did some messy painting to express how we were feeling. Then came St Patricks Day, where we learnt all about Ireland and the colours of the flags through sensory art. We made Ireland flags with our footprints, green hats with paper plates and did some messy painting with orange to make leprechaun beards.

Then we started to explore our classroom a bit more in depth. We recreated our animals toys by painting paper plates. We painted using our blocks and toy cars, and did some role-play with toy baby dolls with Educarer Irene. For Mother’s Day we made love hearts with our handprints to give to our wonderful mamas!

We finished off March by learning all about the Ocean. We made Starfish with bubble wrap, puffer fish with forks and even sharks. Our Educarer Iris brought us to the garden where we did a lot of water play with our sea animal toys and read lots of books about sea animals. We can’t wait for more fun and excitement in April!
