In The Full Swing Of Spring

Over the past four weeks, we have had such a busy, fun filled time, learning and playing together.

From themed events for Carnival Day, enjoying lots of dancing, singing and all things colourful, to diving into the different fantastic worlds in our story books for World Book Day. It has been most fun.

We were so excited to show our children our beautiful new garden in Seabrook Manor. We have some lovely brand new toys and wooden frames to play in, including a car and a house. We spent lots of time enjoying it.

Pancake Tuesday was enjoyed with lots of tasty homemade pancakes made by our amazing Chefs. We also helped support Mental Health Ireland by taking part in their Smiley Pancake Day. Thank you to all who donated and supported.

We are delighted to welcome back some of our ECCE children. It is so great to be together again.

We are still missing some of our friends who have yet to return back to crèche with us, but we look forward to seeing them soon. In the meantime, we hope our children at home have been enjoying the videos we have posted on our Social Media Channels.

And we hope they are enjoying some of our curriculum learning at home too. Feel free to share any activities you have been enjoying at home with us.

In this newsletter, we have shared some insight into the activities from each of our rooms that has taken place over the last four weeks .

Just a additional note to say that our Baby Rooms are nearing capacity in all of our crèches for 2021 so we would like to advise any parents that might be expecting and if you require any sibling places, please enroll as soon as possible. Application forms are available from us or you can also contact Kim from our Admissions Team on kim.jones@linkschildcare.ie.

Our next newsletter for you will be in four weeks time, in the middle of April, where we will share more news with you on what our children have been doing.

Take Care.

Activities from our Baby Room

Our babies have been learning all about Clothes, and the textures and types.

We created a sensory box with different textures and made a pull-out box with socks so they could play with it.

We painted clothes and made sock puppets, which our babies’ thought was very funny indeed.

For our Nature theme, we made caterpillar and butterflies, cocoons and played shadows.

We explored flowers and made a sensory box with flowers and a birds nest, added leaves to a bowl of water and made a flower garden for the window.

Stories from our Wonderful Wobbler Room

Growing flowers, making flower art, planting lentil seeds and sensor painting with broccoli was all part of our Spring theme. Our wobblers went on the hunt for mini beasts too in the garden and found some leaves and sticks for their bug hotel.

We were talking all about our Emotions and made masks to help us understand the different feelings and emotions we may have.

Our Jungle theme had us explore exotic animals, make snakes and we enjoyed sensory play with our safari themed sensory bags.

For Fashion Week, we paint clothes for our “Show” and made a photo frame for our photos. We even made a red carpet for our cat walk!

Tales from our Toddler Room

Our walls in our Toddler Room are adorned with the most beautiful and colourful artwork for our Colour Theme.

We made rainbow handprints, ice creams, carnival masks for Carnival Day and explored bright and light colours.

We also made a sunset from different textures.

For our Clothes theme, we made a washing line for our clothes with pegs as art and craft and made a puzzle and talked about seasonal clothing and the different types of clothes we wear.

Preschool & Naíscoil Room News

Our preschool children had fun a fun packed four weeks of learning through play!

Preschool

It was such fun learning about the Lifecycle of butterflies and frogs. We made caterpillars and learned new words about this topic.

We learned how to mix colours and made rainbows out of lolly pop sticks and explored lots of different colouring techniques.

As Spring has sprung, we enjoyed learning about bugs and insects that we have not seen for a while. We have also noticed the flowers are starting to bloom again. We made Butterfly crafts with shapes and painted them.

We also enjoyed frog and butterfly life cycle with flashcards and shared Springtime stories.

For Carnival Day we had a day of singing and dance; it was lots of fun.

Naíscoil

Our children in Naíscoil had a great time learning all about Springtime. They made rainbows, flowers, explored mini beasts and went on the hunt to find some in the garden. Together we created a forest collage with trees, birds and flowers.

We also explored castles and forest and talked about fairies, and for Chinese New Year, they learned about the celebrations.

Aliens and Outer Space was a very intriguing theme for our children, so we spoke a lot about aliens, solar space, rocket ships and made the planets from play-doh.

We learned about animals in the zoo, the jungle, on safari and in who live in forests.

Afterschool Adventures

Hooray for Carnival Day! This was so much fun, with lots of dancing and singing together.

We talked about how different countries celebrate El Carnival and made masks and hats. On Pancake Tuesday, as well as enjoying lots of tastiest pancakes, made by our Chef Lisa, we also spoke about breakfast and what people in different countries like to eat before they start their day.

Dinosaurs are always a big hit with our children. We learned new words about them, like Carnivorous, Omnivorous and Herbivorous.

We also spoke about mini beasts and made dinosaurs and during our Spanish lessons, we learned some new words to further broaden our learning.
