What a lovely month we have had during June. As the restrictions have lifted slightly, we are enjoying the stories our children are
telling us, about them meeting up with Grandparents and relatives outdoors.

We shared some lovely moments, engaging in our exciting activities and we made some special memories with our Pre-school
children, as they graduated from Pre-school class. We are so delighted for them, as they soon embark on their next big journey of
Primary School. Before then though, we are looking forward to creating more memories with them during the Summer months.
Special thanks to all our Educarers and staff who made Graduations such a special day for our children, and thank you Chef Conor for
the amazing cake that he made.

We loved our Summer Festival, celebrating the Euros football tournament, and for Fathers Day, we got very creative and made some
lovely cards and artwork for them. Keep an eye out on our Social Media Channels for photos of our daily activities.
In this newsletter, we have shared some insight into the activities from each of our rooms that has taken place during the month of June.

Activities from our Baby Room

One day, as we were getting ready for messy painting, we got intrigued by our bellies, not always
we can touch our belly buttons! We decided to make it this week’s topic: let’s learn about our bodies!

We started by singing and dancing to songs that helped us identify different body parts, now we can’t stop asking out educarers to play them again
and again!

We also did body painting, which helped us discover and gain awareness of ourselves while doing what we love most: messy play!

To welcome the Summer, our Educarers created a summer sensory path, with flour, sand and water, we had loads of fun
going back and forth. We also did water play in the garden to take advantage of this marvellous weather.

Finally, we did some mirror time to get to know our very own faces, and we learnt some yoga moves to stretch and relax
all together, all while listening to calming music, it really helped us unwind and we ended up laughing quite a lot!

During this month we’ve been working on topics related to our body scheme. As babies, we’re discovering our strength
and boundaries.

For this purpose our educarers provided us with plenty of different situations in which we can develop our body skills.

We sang “head, shoulders, knees and toes”, we can already follow the song with the proper movements, it’s fascinating!

We also went through messy painting feeling all of our body parts: belly hands, feet, and we discovered our belly bottom.
It’s a great finding, we love it! Now we can show it to the world!

But the most enjoyable activity for us is the balance circuit. We walked through different sized wooden blocks. It was
amazing to out into practice all our body skills during this activities. Sometimes we fell down, but we stand up again and we keep trying it. How lovely it is to learn from our
mistakes!

We had a lot of fun during this month discovering ourselves!

Our Wobbler Room News

Insects
The children are excited to find some insects in the garden and in the class. We found a ladybug in the garden and a spider in
our door and we have two snails in our class when it was raining. The children were impressed to see them, and they enjoy
taking care of them.
We decorated our room and we made leaves with green and yellow paint, grass with small pieces of green paper and some
flowers with crayons.

For arts and crafts, we loved to make our favourite insects: bees, butterflies and snails with different materials as paints,
papers, paper plates and our hands.

We also were learning some vocabulary about insects and their particularities with flashcards, we played a game to walk as a
different insects: jump like a grasshopper, march like an ant, fly like a bee.
We enjoyed playing with constructions, and we were reading a lot of books together, playing with the animals’ puppets and
role playing with the babies.

Painting insects with our feet and making grasshopper and a ladybug was fun.
We celebrated the Euro 2020 Football Tournament, so we painted some T-shirts to make a puppet with them and support our
best teams in the tournament.

Tales from our Toddler Room

SUMMER
Toddlers painted a beach with a sun, palm trees and sand, using different materials like cotton, papers, plates and
cardboard. Also, they sticked sand on a cardboard box to make starfish and they have seashells.
We were talking about what they saw on the beach, and the different clothes they can wear to the beach. We also spoke
about the importance of wearing sunscreen too.
They made a shark puppet to honour their favourite song “baby shark” and enjoyed lots of sensory play with water and
sand.

UNDER THE SEA
We loved learning about fishes and creatures under the sea, submarine, seaweed, coral and others.
Songs and books about sea were welcomed too and we made Fathers Day card under the same theme.

THE WHEELS ON THE BUS
We sang and looked at the pictures of our new favourite book “ The wheels on the bus” and learned new vocabulary: bus,
police car, ambulance, fire truck, tractor…
We also enjoyed Playdoh, water, sand, cotton and other sensory activities.

Pre-school Room News

Pre-school 1
To help us learn about our Emotions, our children associated a
colour with an emotion to help them express it.
We will talk about the movie “Inside Out” and we talked about
our feelings and why it is important to talk about how we feel. We
created a beautiful scrapbook with things that make us happy
and enjoyed a story about emotions.

Preschoolers have been practicing songs and dances for our
special day!! For our Hollywood themed Graduation, we painted
t-shirts with our hands and paint and stamped hands-on stars for
Hollywood like famous people.

We made, graduation hats and decoration with red curtains and
stars. We even had a red carpet with the hands of each child on
the sides and finished our scrapbooks to end the year. It was
such a lovely party and celebration.

SPORTS
With such a good weather we love to go to the garden to run, do
exercise and practice a lot of sports such as football, basketbal or
cycling. And taking advantage of the fact that the Eurocup begins
on June 11, we have decided to work this week on sport and
everything that it includes.

Meeting new people, keeping fit and fair play are some of the
most important things that we cannot forget when we play sports
and what better way to learn all this things than by doing
activities and putting it into practice through play. We have
practiced our aim trying to score different types of balls in 3
types of holes, the highest was worth one point and the samllest
3 points given its difficulty. We have also worked our fine motor
skills making a table football in which the players were our own
fingers. We have created our own balls by painting paper plates
and we have learned a lot of vocabulary about the sport through
baseball. All this while respecting our turn and our colleagues. And always having a lot of fun.

Our children from PS2 enjoyed a lot learning about
healthy habits such as healthy-unhealthy food,
removing all the dirt from our fake teeth (done with
black play dough) and washing our hands property.
We are currently dealing with the virus that we all know
so all of them were really concerned about how to wash
their hands properly, having so much fun doing an
experiment with water, soup and black pepper to see
how our hands are clean after washing them.
We also had so much fun making a special gifts for all
our daddys and grandpas.

Summer is here, we are all playing a lot in the garden,
but protecting our skin with suncream not to get burn…
That’s why our children from PS2 learned about
summer during the last week of June doing lots of
sensory play with water, even some water battles took
place when it was so hot and getting ready for our
holidays. The all learned what we need to bring to the
beach or de mountains and how important is to eat
healthy and put sun cream very often when its so hot.
To encourage their fine motor skills they were painting
with water and paintbrushes all the fences from our
garden as they had picnics outside. We had so much
fun learning about the summer and saying goodbye to
all our friends that graduated during the week.
