Happy New Year to all our children, parents and guardians.
We were delighted to see you all again at the start of the year and to have our children back in our crèches again, and we loved hearing about all the fun things our children got up to over the Christmas break.
We kick started the new year of 2022 with our New Years Resolutions and enjoyed exploring our 5 senses, the human body and the human skeleton, as well as the circus. Our children also loved National Puzzle Day and creating some very cool inventions during Inventors Day.
Keep an eye out on our Social Media Channels for photos of our daily activities.
In this newsletter, we have shared some insight into the activities from each of our rooms that has taken place during the month of January. We hope you enjoy browsing through them.

Activities from our Baby Room

This month we were learning about soft and hard things and we were playing with our Treasure Basket filled to the brim with soft toys like sponges and Teddies, and hard toys like wooden pieces and stones.
Our babies loved feeling them with their hands and exploring the different types of textures.
We also
earned about animals of the forest, painted paper plates with our hands to do some foxes and we stamped leaves with sponges –
it was such fun.
On the third week we learned about fruits, and it was so yummy to taste an orange and a pear.
The last week of the month we learned about the sea and the animals that live in. We painted a sea with bubble wrap paper, and we paint some fish to put on in! What a mess, our hands are blue!

Stories from our Wonderful Wobbler Room

Our wobblers started the month, cleaning up their mess. We made a mess of toys and then we had to classify them in their corresponding box and then help to clean up.
We made our own brush with and later we used it to help sweep the classroom floor.
We have also enjoyed so lovely outdoor activities, where we danced, dressed up and had concerts. For our Circus theme arts and crafts, we created a clown with our own hand.
We have also became experts on food, where we learned a lot of vocabulary about the food toys that we have in class. We used flashcards to enhance our learning and we classified the food according to colours. Role play in the
kitchen was also enjoyed, where we fed the rest of our friends with food we prepared in our play kitchen. We made our own food plates and plates mats and decorated them with foods that we like to eat.
Finally, we have worked on the parts of the body, with songs like “head, shoulders, knees and toes” and “one little finger”. We enjoyed looking at ourselves in the mirror and naming the parts of our faces.

Tales from our Toddler Room

Christmas is over and a New Year has started!
During the first week the light caught our attention and we wanted to know more about the traffic lights, so we created our own playdough using the three colours red, yellow… and GREEN!
It was funny to paint the pedestrian crossing with our feet, it tickled us!
We love to do funny faces in the mirror, so we were very interested in our body. Our Educarers helped us make some masks by colouring them and gluing fake hair. We are so artistic!
The rhythm is in our veins and we wanted to show it to our friends! That’s why we worked on movement and rhythms, dancing, painting with our bodies. We had the time of our lives, when one Educarer brought her guitar, we all wanted to bea musicians and we sang and danced together.
Last week but not less important! Our Educarers told us about the importance of friendships, kindness, and caring about others. We did group activities where we needed to co-operate and work as a team.

Preschool 1
This month of January has been a great welcome where we have been able to talk about our Christmas holidays, Santa Claus, the gifts that they have brought us.
We learned the 5 senses through different recreational and manipulative activities. We also loved learning all about the different parts of the body and the Human skeleton.
Our children remembered the alphabet and made the letter of their name and decorated it. We have learned to recycle and which different bins we must use.
Our dancing challenge helped to keep us fit and played with clay too. It was a month full of fun activities.

Preschool 2
What an amazing month we had in Pre-school 2, since we came back from Christmas break.
Our children wanted to learn about numbers developing their fine motors skills and cognitive system.
Then, after seeing a trash truck picking up all the trash next to the crèche, we decided to learn about recycling, pollutions and the different types of bins we can use.
Some of our children were quite interested in “where different things come from”, so we planted some seeds apart and enjoyed some amazing activities like learning how to make play dough and how to make a tree out of paper.
During our last week we travelled all around the world learning about Planet Earth and different countries. Don’t forget your passports – Links Childcare Aeroplane is about to take off to an exciting destination!
