Activities from our Baby Room

Our babies enjoyed the topic of food. We made different activities in which the children played with plastic food and painted with real fruit on paper. We used colourful pasta and stuck them on paper. On World Book Day we dressed up and made book markers.

To encourage our babies to develop physical movement we took them into the garden where some of them could use the bikes. In the room, we worked with the walkers and encouraged the smallest ones to crawl. We also painted with purple paint in honour of International Woman’s Day.

For St. Patrick’s Day celebrations we enjoyed sensory activities and made shamrocks with glitter and paint.

For our Spring theme, we painted with different colours by mixing them on the paper with our hands. We created different flowers to celebrate spring. For Mother’s Day, we made some special cards and painted our hands and feet to make foot and handprints.

Stories from our Wonderful Wobbler Room

Our wobblers loved celebrating Carnival and we decorated our class with a lovely collage made from our handprints.

On World Book Day and we made bookmarks and read lots of lovely books and we play with lots of playdough.

Our wobblers love the new season of Spring and love exploring the garden.

We made some lovely flower art, added glue on the paper and stuck some sensorial material to make a big flower for our wall. For International Women’s Day we stuck our hands in purple paint and made a lovely collage to symbolise strong women.

For Saint Patrick’s Day we painted Irish flags using our hands to make them feel the texture of the paint in their hands and enjoyed Storytime explaining the story of St Patrick and the snakes. The children were very excited about this. Our Wobblers are all such artists. They love to colour with chalks and crayons, we made another shamrock and then cut it making different puzzle shapes.

Our wobblers love exploring through the sensory and textures. So, we decided to work on this to develop their skills and abilities. First, we divided the 3 textures that we were going to work with, “soft, rough, squashy”. Then, we stuck some sensorial material to put it in the correct place.

We stuck some Weetabix, coconut, sensorial materials for squashy. For the soft texture, we mixed flour and rice Krispies.

Tales from our Toddler Room

Our Toddlers were interested in different jobs and professions. They enjoyed pretending be doctors using the doctors set and the costumes they crafted their own hospital and police station with nurses, doctors, and policemen.

Watching the moon in the garden they started to be interested in rockets, going high and singing ‘we’re going to the moon’. It was time to learn about Space. We created our own universe display in the room, and we had lots of fun going on an alien hunt in the garden.

The weather allowed us to enjoy the garden. They were interested in running, cycling, playing with the ball… so it was time to learn about sports and movements. We crafted our own basketball game and play lots of different games in the garden.

The flowers and bugs started to appear and blossom. Our toddlers were ready to learn about springtime. We made lot of artworks using different materials and even our feet to paint flowers and animals. We crafted our own flowers for the Mother’s Day.

Pre-School Room News

Pre-school 1

Learning is always much more fun when we can incorporate more than one sense. Our project for this week was “ocean life”. We learn facts about each animal, for instance, dolphins are friendly, grey, and swim. Fishes have lots of colours, live in the ocean, are little, friendly, swim, they can be pets at schools, home too. Sharks have sharp teeth, eat animals, swim, live in the ocean, they are not friendly.

We painted; we made an aquarium with paper roll. We made octopuses and the ocean water.

Our kids were fascinated by ocean animals and loved making some of their own. We painted sharks, jellyfishes.

They were able to count each group od fishes, compare them and explore them. We discussed about the ocean water. We asked them about the taste because water ocean is salty.

One of our topics was about Insects. We were curious about “life cycle of a butterfly” butterflies are one of the most colourful and beautiful creatures found in nature.

Our children learned new skills, had a fun, and developed self-confidence by spending time in the garden. We painted the pumpkin’s seeds, and we were looking after them growing up. With these activities they develop the responsibility, self-confidence, love of nature, cooperation, and creativity skills.

We learnt about the cycle of the butterfly from egg to larva, pup, and adult butterfly. When they are strong enough to fly, they look for flowers. We enjoyed painting the butterflies.

Also, we did cards for the International Women’s Day. We developed sensory activities while manipulating the different materials.

Our children are excited for “green day” which is Saint Patrick’s Day. They wanted to know more about their culture, language and music.

So, this week we focus to make the Irish flag, shamrocks, leprechauns, and cards to decorate our room.

We also had a party for St. Patrick’s Day, and we learned traditional Irish dancing.

Pre-schoolers learned that the first potato was planted here, and that Halloween was born in Ireland. We learned interesting facts about Ireland like it’s an island in the west of Europe. We talked about food, sports and the weather too.

We loved learning about zoo’s animals. The children know to difference between Farm animals and jungle animals. We made birds, lions, giraffes, and tigers. We were listening to them sounds and talking about where they live.

We were singing songs like Old McDonald in a jungle version. We also give them new mats for snack and teatime (lion, tiger, monkey).

This week, on Sunday is Mother’s Day, so we made cards and flower pockets to take home with them for their mommies.

Pre-school 2

In Pre-school 2, we were working about oceans and animals what we can find in the deep. We made a Nemo and Dory wall. We talked about different flowers, insects and animals that we can find around the creche. We made flowers for International Women’s Day.

We were reading and learning about animals on Earth and sea. We discovered desert, Antarctic, and the jungle. We made a tiger and giraffe with pre-school 1 and it was lovely to do this activity together.
