Activities from our Baby Room

Our babies had an amazing month of March full of fun!

They learned about animals and decorated their room with lots of handprint animals. The weather was so nice and we had an animal water sensory box in the garden where we put some animals and the children enjoyed splashing the water and finding the animals. We read ‘My first animals’ book and sang lots of animals songs. Each baby went home with an animal crown that resembled a tiger, monkey and bears.

St Patrick’s week was very exciting! We made very cute shamrock handprints to decorate the room and lots of messy play painting with green colour and we loved to see everyone wearing green! We decorated the room with Irish flags and shamrocks and for Mother’s Day, to show our love to our mummies we made a photo frame with our babies hand prints in them as a lovely keepsake.

We did different activities to improve fine motor skills. Our babies enjoyed doing some games to practise gripping with their hands .We did activities to support the family relationship and we used the Family wall to recognise our families. Our babies had lots of fun learning about the atmospheric weather. We simulated the rain and the wind, and we were very lucky because we could see a rainbow. Finally we imitated animals sounds and we learned new animals songs .

The events of the month were Pancake Day. Babies made chef hats and enjoyed eating their pancakes, thanks Chef Eoin! They were very yummy. We celebrated International Women’s Day and our babies painted a female symbol with their hand prints.

Stories from our Wonderful Wobbler Room

March was a wonderful month for our Wobblers, full of funny activities!

We spent a lot of time in the garden enjoying the sunny weather. Our wobblers were so interested in birds, so we made a birds house with a milk container and every time we went to the garden we called the birdies in hope that they would fly to us. How fun it was to hear our teachers whistling to the birds.

We have learned about the weather and the wobblers made a sun and a cloud with rain by painting paper plates and we like to look through the window and check what is the weather like.

We loved to do exercise and our teachers Magda and Angela showed us how to do yoga in the garden.

We enjoyed new friends in the wobbler room and we really like to play with them. We made a handprint card saying ‘Just like stars, our friendship never stops shining’

We learned about food around the world and we made Edcuarers Carla and Carol’s favourite Spanish plate through art; paella! How fun it was to paint the rice with the colour yellow, and we also made an Italian pizza because we love Pizza Friday!

Fede and Pilar made a homemade bubble maker and we loved to pop the bubbles in the garden! Thanks, teachers, for the great idea and activities.

Tales from our Toddler Room

Toddler’s love animals and we have been talking a lot about going to the Zoo. We made a train in the room, placing the chairs in a line and pretended we were in the Zoo watching the animals, how fun! In the garden, we enjoyed calling the birds and we decided to make one in a paper plate with paint and feathers. We also made messy painting to create our own zoo.

We had lots of fun celebrating St Patrick’s Day! Everyone put their favourite green clothes on and we talked about Leprechauns and shamrocks. We even made our own Leprechauns and Shamrocks hats and masks to bring home.

We are very interested about clothes, and we like to choose our outfits every day and show them to our friends. We enjoyed shopping role play where we had to choose the clothes for our baby dolls.

We are very interested in singing and we had a disco party! We made our microphones with a paper tube and a pompom and we danced and singed a lot listening to our favourites songs!

Toddlers were very interested in castles, they built Lego and blocks castles, they painted a big castle to decorate the room and they played in the garden making sand castles.

We are superheroes! The children made paper plate superheroes masks and pretended to have superpowers.

Baking day! Toddlers baked very yummy cupcakes to bring home, they were delicious!

We love to play with our motorbikes in the garden and we made a very tickly foot print motorbike

Toddlers were very interested in plants, they planted lentils and they loved to water them every day and see them growing.

Pre-School Room News

Welcome March! This month we had so much fun.We started the month planting lentil seeds. We are enjoying watching them grow and sprout. Our children were very excited to come every day to the room to water the plants.

We gave a big welcome to Spring painting and making flowers and insects and we decorated the room with them. We also made birds houses for our garden using tissue boxes and sticking crepe paper. They were very colourful. Eoin, our Chef, gave us some seeds and add to our bird houses. We can’t wait to see the birds around.

This month we also discovered the Zoo and the animals we would typically find there. To learn more about the zoo we made our own zoo in the classroom using a cardboard box with a lot of animals and plants. Our children adopted their own zoo animals, and they oversaw taking care of them every day. Our pre-schoolers also made insect arts & crafts using paper plates and they created ladybugs, snails, bees and much more. They learned and discovered a lot of things about plants; where they grow, what do they need to grow, how do we water them…Thanks to all our plant books and stories, we have learned a lot.

For St. Patrick Day celebrations, we celebrated luck and positive thoughts with lots of songs, dancing, reading stories about leprechauns and green everywhere! We made a pot of gold and a rainbow sticking small pieces of paper, we coloured shamrocks, we painted Irish flags and we painted rainbows with crayons for the scrapbook.

Furthermore our children were interested in restaurants and personal hygiene. They love having restaurants role play pretending be waiters and waitresses using chef’s hats, an apron and a food menu that the children made by cutting and sticking food items from the grocery magazines! In line with restaurants and the importance or washing hands specially before every meal, Paula and Mora created a germs experiment for them to explain them the importance of personal hygiene.

We love singing and we learned about writers and singers. We created our own microphones to be like superstars! Also, our pre-schoolers designed their own books with pieces of newsletters and letters and they loved it!

We are very good at sorting blocks and toys by sizes, colours and shapes and the children are were good at it!

We have been very interested in airplanes and sky so we starter to learn more about it, we have been making airplanes arts and crafts, reading airplanes stories and we even made a pilot cabin with a cardboard box! We enjoyed wearing our pilot costumes and pretend to pilot the airplane.

We also made our own binoculars using kitchen paper rolls and painting them.
