What a fun few months we have had.
We kick started the new year of 2022 with our New Years Resolutions and enjoyed exploring our 5 senses, the human body and the human skeleton, as well as the circus. Our children also loved National Puzzle Day and creating some very cool inventions during Inventors Day. In February, we celebrated Chinese New Year, St Valentines Day and enjoyed Balance Day and had so much fun for Carnival Day.

In this newsletter, we have shared some insight into the activities from each of our rooms that has taken place during the month of January and February. We hope you enjoy browsing through them.

Activities from our Baby Room

Our babies had lots of fun during the month of January. They have been busy doing lots of activities based on the following topics: Our body, Teddy bears and Our senses: That feels soft.
Our babies had lots of fun painting with their hands, fingers and toes and enjoying messy. To learn about our body their teachers Sofia, Elena and Alba made a textures sensory path so they could feel the different materials.
We love teddy bears! The teachers draw one and we enjoyed sticking some cotton on it, how fun! it felt so soft, we enjoyed feeling the teddy bear textures.
To explore the sense of touch they explored trough a soft textures sensory box with cotton, feathers and wool.
They also enjoyed Imitation games and following the actions of the song ‘If you are happy and you know it’.
We also celebrated Fit and Fun Day, doing exercise in our sensory circuit; Inventors Day, the babies invented very cute glasses and National puzzle day, they made a big puzzle and each baby brought a piece of the puzzle home.
Our babies discovered the Spring sensations exploring the garden and our sensory box with Spring materials and items such as flowers, petals, feathers.
We had a lot of fun exploring and touching flowers that we made with crochet paper. They also enjoyed exploring flowers and plants that we found in the garden.
Our babies enjoyed exploring different colour toys, we have yellow, blue and green boxes with toys of these colours inside. We had fun playing hide and seek and and peek a boo too.
We learned about bugs and insects and each baby went home wearing an insect crown like lady bugs, ants, caterpillar, how fun!
Our babies stamped their hands in playdough to bring home as a present to show love and for Balance Day, they practiced their balancing in a circuit made with soft blocks.
On Mini Beast Day, they went for a bug hunt to the garden. On Valentine’s Day, they made a foot print heart card to bring home and on Carnival Day: babies made their own carnival mask to bring home.

Stories from our Wonderful Wobbler Room

Our wobblers had an amazing month of January! They have been doing lots of fun activities based in Fingers & Toes; The circus and Traffic lights.
For Fingers & Toes we had a very funny activity where the children enjoyed painting the bubbles paper and popping it up. We also sing and dance ‘One little finger’ one of our favourite songs!
We made handprint traffic lights while singing the song ‘Twinkle Twinkle traffic lights’.
Wobblers enjoy painting and with the help of Devi & Pilar they made a very big circus tent by painting a cardboard box! They loved to put stamp some elephants and monkeys to decorate the tent. The children also made handprints clowns and painting clowns using pom poms.
Wobblers learn about winter animals, made a polar bear by painting with sponges and penguins with crayons.
We were queens and kings and made amazing crowns by painting them that we wore all day!
We made a football with our finger and sing ‘ABC’ song and made some letters by sticking paper.
Our wobblers love fire fighters role play, we painted a ‘Fire’ and sing our fire songs!
We had fun exploring trough their motor skills and their teachers set up a sensory circuit with soft blocks
We also celebrated Fit and Fun day, playing football and bike races in the garden; and the Three Wise Men day making handprint painting of the 3 kings.
Our wobblers love to celebrate the Spring season and they made a cute nest for birds using paper, feathers and paint. We painted three flowers using sponges and made a very nice tree with their hands. We love handprint painting! They also planted seeds, we are very excited to see hoe they will grow! we like to water them every morning.
Wobblers had fun mixing colours and painting fruits! They are very interested about learning the fruit names. They painted apples, strawberries and grapes to learn about the red and purple colour. We had a sensory box play working about the green colour, our children painting rice with green paint end explored the texture. They also explore colours by playing with colourful feathers.
Fruits and Night time: They made an awesome foot print dreamcatcher and did banana stamp painting and painted fingerprint grapes Jungle animals and the bus. We love to sing the Wheels on the bus and we painted a yellow bus; hand print elephant painting and sponge painting lion.
We went to the garden and found loads of sticks! we collected them all and made art work.
Our wobblers love to play pretending play, they painted a box and pretended to be a television, they had fun playing with it and going shopping.
Reflection: they like to see themselves in the mirror! they made a cardboard mirror with aluminum paper and they loved to see their reflection on it Under the sea: We made a cute jellyfish sticking some papers and painting it.

Tales from our Toddler Room

Our toddlers had a great month of January! They have been busy doing lots of fun activities based on the following topics: The circus, Traffic lights and Fingers & Toes.
Toddlers made a clown mask and a big clown to decorate the room , it had very long legs!
They have been talking and learning about traffic lights, the made handprint traffic lights and we made a cardboard traffic light that we use for role play when pretending to be driving our wooden car.
Toddlers love painting and their made hand and footprint and also a beautiful handprint rainbow to decorate the room! How colourful.
It’s very cold! Toddlers made their own snow by cotton and water.
Numbers! The children have been a different number every day until 5! They painted them with their favourite colours
We also celebrated Fit and fun day, doing loads of outdoor exercise in the garden, jumping, running and riding the bikes; Inventors Day, the toddlers invented a telephone and National puzzle day they did lots of puzzles & dizzles together!
In February we learnt a lot about colours. We have been reading our colours book and make primary colours art and craft painting with our hands.
Our toddlers welcomed the Spring making a beautiful mural to decorate the room with finger print flowers and paint.
We love flowers and we planted some lentils in a container with cotton and water, we are super excited to see them growing!
Our toddlers are very interested in going shopping so they made their own supermarket painting a cardboard box and have a pretending shopping play. we also made a pineapple with a pinecone and feathers and we drew a kiwi with crayons.
We are doctors! We made thermometers with construction toys and checked our temperatures. Veggies are very yummy and they made fingerprint carrots and hand print broccoli sticking some paper on it.
We also painted pasta and make an awesome necklace.

Pre-School Room News

Pre Schoolers had a fantastic month of January! They came back more than ready to welcome the new year! They started their new scrapbook sponge painting the 2022! They have been learning about different topics like Skeleton, 5 senses and recycling and pollution.
Pre Schoolers learnt about the 5 senses and we did several activities; for the sense of sight they played ‘I spy’ , we had a concert for our sense or hearing and we had a soap fragrance activity where we had to guess the smell, Thanks Valentina for bringing all of the fragrances from home! It was a fun activity! We also tried to guess the fruit at snack time.
We had a sensorial footprint path, a sensorial box with rice, a guess the flavour activity and playing loads of instruments. Thanks Mora & Paula to setting up this fun activity!
We created our own recycling bins for the room and pretending to be ‘cleaning the beach’ and picked the rubbish up and put it in the right recycling bin. We learnt about recycling and make a better world!
Talking about recycling the Pre schoolers made a recycling human-sized skeleton and talked about the different bones, we sang and danced ‘Dem bones’ in the garden, how fun! thanks Ana & Maca for this amazing activity. To learn more about the skeleton we made a small one with cotton buns and a x-ray hand with our handprint
Children spotted a rainbow trough the window and they wanted to paint one with the paint brush and sponges
They were also interested in boats & mermaids, they made fish shapes cookies.
Pre schoolers showed interest in lights and shadows, they made their own torch and created a shadow puppet theatre show and also did experiments to explore about the reflection of lights using colour lenses, Cds,..
We like to look at the teachers watch and say the time, so we all learnt about numbers and times and made clocks to decorate our room.
We also celebrated New year resolution, Fit and fun day, Inventors Day and Puzzle day.
