Welcome to our latest newsletter for Links Childcare Clontarf, where we will be sharing our news and photos from February and March. In February, we celebrated St Valentines Day, Recycling Day, our learning all about frogs and butterflies too. World Book Day at the start of March was lovely and we had such fun dressing up and reading with all our friends and Educarers.

Unfortunately, with March being cut short for us all in crèche, we didn’t get the chance to finish up our activities that we had planned for the rest of the month.
We hope our children have been able to do a bit of the curriculum with the children at home through the information we have shared with parents recently?

We have also been working on lots of videos from all of our crèches, put together by our Educarers, Managers and Chefs, and shared with you all via our Links Childcare Facebook and Instagram social pages. If you and your children have been following them, we hope you have enjoyed them all. And if you are trying any of the experiments or recipes out, and would like to share them with us, we would love to see them also. Please tag us using the hashtag  #LinksLearningThroughPlay on your posts, or email them to me, and I will share them with the team.

Our social links are below for Facebook and Instagram, if you would like to take a look.

For now, on behalf of the Clontarf team, we wish you well and we would like to say a big hello to all our children. We cannot wait to see all our children again very soon in crèche.
Please keep safe, wash your hands and enjoy this home time with your children as best as we all can.

Best Wishes,

Sarah

Baby Room News

In February we welcomed Spring. The month was full of colours and flowers and we have enjoyed learning and experimenting a lot.

We have learned about topics of Spring, creating our Spring garden with flowers of many colours, and we have also enjoyed learning about colours, doing baby sensory play with paint and mixing colours.

Our babies enjoyed learning about the growth of flowers, and we planted chickpeas, first putting them between cotton and water to germinate and then planting them on soil to see, day by day, how they grow.

On February 14th, we celebrated St Valentine´s Day, creating some hearts with all our love.

We also celebrated Carnival with a party. It was full of colours and our babies loved listening to carnival songs. We love to celebrate these types of parties because we have the possibility to share these very funny and lovely moments with our Educarers and our friends.

In March we were excited about the upcoming St Patrick´s Day celebrations, and we decorated our romos with green colours and flags. We learnt new songs too and experimented with the colour green. We also made a leprechaun rainbow with our children fingerprint and small shamrocks to add to it.

For World Book Day, we made nice bookmarks with a small book on the top, and our babies got to colour them. We all love reading together. Its a very relaxing for our babies.

Wobbler Room News

Our junior and senior wobblers had a busy time doing lots of various activities during the month of February and the start of March.

We deocarted our windows with our hand prints and made Valentines Day crafts for our Friends. For our Spring time activities, we explored lots of colour, flowers and animials too. Learning how to plant and sow things was lots of fun as they love to get their hands messy with the soil. We planted lentils and chickpeas and watered them to give them a drink.
The weather was nice and fresh, so we enjoyed some outdoor garden time fun.

Animals are always a fun topic of learning for our wobblers, and when we explored the Zoo, they loved Reading the story book to go with it and discovering the animals in the zoo and also in the wild jungles.

OUr Teddy Bear Hospital opened for a short while and all our children took careo f any tedies that needed some love and care.

Singing and dancing is somehitng that we love to do in abundance and with our Carnival celebrations, we did lots of this with our Educarers.

We started our St Patricks Day decoartions in class, and painted different green shades and colours for a green rainbow.

Toddler Room News

With St Valentines Day in February, our Toddlers had a lovely time making cards and pictures for their loved ones and Friends. For Carnival Day, we made masks and had a dance party to celebrate. It was lots of fun.

All our toddlers love dressing up as super héroes, and they wore their capes and masks and had their own Little adventures in class, saving the world.

Role play is such a big part of our lives in Links Childcare, and we encourage our children to do lots of it. To help, our Educarers made them their own Salón and Foot Spa and we enjoyed some lovely beauty pampering treatments. We set up our own restaurant too and had servers and customers.

Making a sensorial book was a brilliant way for our children to explore different textures in a fun way. They loved helping to put it together and feel all the different textures in the book that they made.

For World Book Day, we dressed up and brought in our own books to share with our Friends in class and coloured in our own book marks too.

Preschool Room News

In February, our preschool 2 room celebrated the start of Spring and created a lovely Spring environment in our class room. We did lots of arts and crafts and painted flowers and spring trees. We imprinted our hand prints onto the branches too and sang our springtime song.

We made cookies and love hearts for our mums and dads for St Valentines Day and made cards for our friends too.
We loved our Dinosaurs park, where we made our own park with a big volcano. Our friend brought different types of dinosaurs into class, so we learned their names and some characteristics of them.

The children picked their favourite dinosaur and painted pictures of them and we read books about dinosaurs.
For our learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly, we made butterflies with paper plates and for the life cycle of a frog, we made frogs with paper plate and painted them to enhance our learning.

We painted plant pots and sowed some seeds and gave them a drink of water too to watched them grow.
