What a busy month we have had in crèche – and what fun too.

Celebrations included Easter and Earth Day and we enjoyed themed events such as National Pet Day, caring for our pets and Space Day.

We are delighted to welcome back all of our children and we are having such fun together. Keep an eye out on our Social Media Channels for photos of our daily activities.

Activities from our Baby Room

Our babies had such a lovely month of fun in April.

For Easter they created lovely art decorations for their room and they made bunny ear hats too to bring home. We learned all about the moon and created a space scene in their room where they used tinfoil to make the moon and painted stars.

We love Fairy tales, and read Goldilocks and the Three Bears a lot. We made a shape sorter from a cardboard box and the babies explored the different shapes and with help from Tania.

They loved going to the garden this month especially with all the nice weather, so the babies explored their garden the different texture of the soft pore on the ground. They loved getting onto the small garden equipment like the push along bikes. They also brought out some of their toys from their room.

They made different faces using paper plates to help the babies express emotions – they also looked in the mirrors with the babies to make happy smiling faces.

Our Wobbler Room News

For Easter our wobblers made lots of artwork to display around the creche. They had great fun singing the song ‘hop little bunnies’ They made a lovely Easter display in their
room and put little eggs baskets beside it. They made easter bunny headbands just like the ones their Educarers wore!

For our Moon theme, they created rockets to take them to the moon. They made a display in the room of a big sun and a big moon to help recognise the difference with
daytime & night-time. They also did some free painting to create their own universe.

We made fairy doors and places them in our rooms too. They read some stories about little piggies & Goldilocks. They also read stories about Cinderella & Snow White.

For our Senses, we did a food tasting and smelling activity. Our wobblers continued to explore the senses outdoors by touching and smelling flowers, looking at cars and trucks
drive by, and hearing the birds sing. They also sang the fivesense song which encourages them to recognise their five senses

We love Shapes and we created a shape sorter box out of a cardboard box and encouraged the children to find different items in their room that would fit inside.
Iris did some yoga stretches with the children and had lots of fun watching them copy her moves!

To help with our balance, we did some balance circuit in our indoor play room using the soft foam blocks.

On National Pet Day, our Educarers printed off some photos of different types of pets. They also included photos of their own pets and talked about them.

We also loved having our morning snack outdoors for National Picnic Day.

Tales from our Toddler Room

Our toddlers had great fun celebrating Easter. They made lovely easter artwork which was displayed around the creche.

They had good fun in the garden playing hide the chicken. They had an easter egg hunt and they worked together to find the colourful eggs and the big golden egg.

For our Fairy tales, we read some of their favourite fairy tales Three little pigs & goldilocks and the three bears. They made piggy noses and the wolf snouts to act out the scenes from three little pigs and our chef Susan brought up some spoons/bowls so we could pretend to be the bears from goldilocks.

During Space Day, we made a night sky with the stars and the moon. We pretended to be astronauts and walking on the moon.

For National Pet Day we discussed about the different types of pets you can own. We asked the children if they had any pets or if their grandparents had pets. We told them how pets have a special doctor (the vet ) where they go to when they are sick. They also made their face masks of their favourite type of pet and pretended to be their pet.

The children love to go to their garden in search of some creepy crawlies and spider webs. They made some artwork in their room of spiderman.

They enjoy role playing about fruit & vegetable stores and buying vegetables for dinner. One of our Educarers brought in some real life veg for their fruit & vegetable market.

For our Musical instruments, the children enjoy making instruments from different objects in their rooms they love uses the toy boxes as drums!! They made musical shakers and danced to lots of different types of music.

Preschool Room News

For Easter our Pre-school children created lovely art displays for their rooms and also for home.

Our Solar system was so much fun. They made a display in their room of the different planets & the sun and rockets.

For our Europe theme, we painted different flags of the countries that make up Europe. We also discussed the capital cities.

One of the children likes listening to the different sounds in the room and our environment, so Lourdes made a sound bingo game where they listened to different sounds on the
music player and try to identify these.

They are very interested in where people can live. They painted different types of homes – bungalow, apartment, a castle and a normal house!

The children are still interested in farm animals from previous months, so they used this opportunity to discuss more about the farmer and the job he has do. They also
talked about tractors and the different sizes they can be.

For our Music theme, we loved to listen and dancing to music so our Educarers divided into two groups and they put on a musical concert for each other.

We also made a volcanos and used sand to help write their initials of their names.

Transition to big school is such a special milestone. We created a check list of the things that we need to be able to do before going to big school.

They used the steal shapes in their room to count how many corners are in a square, triangle, rectangle and we tried to trick them with a circle shape, but they knew there was none!

We made an astronaut using cardboard boxes and they pretended in the garden to be walking on the moon.

During National Pet Day, they discussed about their favourite type of pet and they all loved the goldfish so made a fishbowl and used their fingerprints to make fish.

Charlie from pre school 1 welcomed a little brother this month. Congratulations!
