Activities from our Baby Room

We had such a fantastic month in the baby room, full of celebrations.

Our babies love cleaning and organizing the toys, so we decided to make it a little bit harder.

The first week of March we worked on tidiness and cleanliness, we collected all the toys together, we also wiped windows and the tables together. The children loved the textures of the clothes!

For St Patick’s Day, we decorated our room with our arts and crafts. We played Irish songs and the had great time dancing and playing musical instruments.

For Mother’s Day, our babies made a beautiful card for their mommy.

Our babies love messy play and he explore different textures such as sand, playdoh, flour, gloop.

Stories from our Wonderful Wobbler Room

We welcomed our friends Ben and Chloe who moved from the baby room to wobbler room! Everybody is very happy to have new friends to play with.

The first week, our topic was “sports & getting active” as they love running & playing football outside; Some of our activities included: Being outside playing with the ball, where they practiced their motor skills & coordination by throwing the ball, catching, and passing to each other.

Also, we played our famous “ready, steady, go” that they love so much!!! We go from side to side of the garden jumping, twirling, hoping, like crabs, rolling…

Our tiny wobblers love this game!

We played in climbing frame outside to make a “circuit” where they climb up the steps and slide down and go under the bridge.

We celebrated World Book Day and enjoyed dressing up in costumes and storytelling in our cosy corner and were played “the 3 little pigs”, so all day activities were related to the topic.

We made 3 houses that we hung on the room, lots of tiny pigs with their handprint, a wolf & some masks they took them home to show their mom and dads.

We had a big house made of a carboard box they pretended to be the wolf and huffed and puffed nonstop.

Our song of the week was “who’s scared of the big bad wolf?” And we turned it into a catching game.

For “Story time & dramatic play” our wobblers were interested in dressing up with the costumes that we have in the room and role-playing.

We love our nursery rhymes book! They know Humpty Dumpty; They love to get into the boat and scream if they see the “crocodile”!

We also celebrated our wonderful day: St. Patrick’s Day, where all was about green, gold and tiny leprechauns. We made our representation of St. Patrick getting rid of snakes, painted lots of shamrocks, and made a wonderful rainbow that leads to a big pot of gold. We made up a song called “who is scared of the green tiny leprechaun?” (from the tune, “who took the cookie from the cookie jar” rhythm).

At the end of the month our topic was “sounds: loud and quite”

We have plenty of sensory toys they love to shake, so we used them to make rhythms following the music.

Tales from our Toddler Room

Toddler Room has been pretty busy!

We have been learning, playing and discovering lots of new things. Here, there are some of the main things that we have been working on.

We learned all about the sea. We saw different types of fish, where do they live and some important words that we can use when when talk about the sea, like swimming. We also listened lots of songs and we did lots of dancing, especially with our favourite song: “Baby Shark”. We built a little in the class, we decorated our room as an ocean and we had a great time doing arts and crafts. We also made jelly fish!

We celebrated Saint Patrick. We learned a lot of things about the day, we talked about snakes, shamrocks and we practiced the name of our country, Ireland. On Wednesday we all got dressed up with green clothes and we had a party with Irish music! We also made a postcard for our families, and we painted some stones.

We have been learning about the weather! We enjoyed looking through the window to see how the weather was like, and if we would be able to go to the garden.

Lucky us, the weather has been very good, and we have been doing a lot of outdoor activities, we also found some insects and spiders!

Pre-School Room News

Pre-school 1

This month was an incredible and funny month for preschool children

During that week, most of the children showed a big interest playing with the water. We learnt about the water cycle (starting in the mountain and ending in the sea).

One of our activities was painting with ICE in different colours!! They were amazed mixing the colours. They were also able to see how the ice was melting while using it.

We made rainbow mixing soda and vinegar!!, which creates a chemical reaction, they really have a great time with it.

We celebrate 8 of march ‘International Woman’s day’, our preschoolers made a little gift for their mothers and explain the meaning of the purple ribbon.

During this week also, it was a very special day in Ireland. It was ST PATRICK DAY!!!!. That’s why during Wednesday children were doing different activities related with St Patrick Day: preparing some decorations, colouring a big clover and, as always, playing and having fun.

Theatre was one of our topics of the month.

During the week of theatre, the children showed a big interest, and they prepared a scenario where they played: they role played stories such as 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf.

We celebrated Mother’s Day!!! They made a lovely key ring (with the picture of their mother).

Pre-school 2

This month in pre-school 2 we had lots of fun learning and making new things. We had lots of events this month too, so it kept us all super busy.

At the start of the month, we started off with pancake Tuesday. The children got to learn how to make pancakes and what ingredients are needed to make them. The chef, Marie even made pancakes for the children to have for Tea time which they loved. This month the curriculum is about the garden so the children made an insect of their choice for our garden display in the room. They made ladybugs, bees, butterflies, ants, spiders and so on. We learnt some interesting facts about each ladybug too. The children were also interested in the kitchen and food this week so we made a food pyramid and looked at all the healthy food that is good for us. Each child drew a picture of their favourite fruit/Vegetable. We also looked at the different utensils that are found in the kitchen and we played a matching game with them. It was also world book day this week so we all dressed up in our favoutie character. We had lots of fun making bookmarks for world book day too.

The following week, the children were interested in learning all about the different professions . We discussed and drew pictures of what the children would like to be when they grow up. We made some police and fire men crafts and pretended to be teachers and hairdressers. We also celebrated international women’s day . The children all painted a purple heart to support the day. This week the children spent a lot of time practicing their cutting skills. They also enjoyed drawing and colouring rainbows. With the weather not being too nice outside we played lots of PE games in activity street such as obstacle courses, ball games, team games and so on. We also started doing some St. Patricks day crafts and songs. We made shamrocks and they children played with green water for water play.

The following week was a short week, with St. Patricks day on the Thursday so we spent the week all about St. Patricks day. We learnt who St. Patrick was and why we celebrated him every year. We sang new songs and made decorations such as leprechauns, St. Patricks day hats , Rainbows and we made a big pot of gold. We also made some glop for our messy play activity which the children really enjoyed. On Wednesday we all wore green, listened to Irish music and played lots of games.

The last week in March we looked at all the different Zoo animals and the children made hand-prints of their favourite Zoo animal. The children also drew and coloured pictures of animals. We had lots of fun with messy play this week also. The children made playdough, made and played with gloop, made kinetic sand and enjoyed playing with the water in the garden with the zoo animals. We also made some shortbread cookies which the children really enjoyed doing. On the 27th was Mothers day so the children made lovely cards and pictures for their mammies and also gave them a lovely yummy surprise.

This month we also celebrated Max and Victorias Birthday.

We had so much fun this month so we look forward to what April holds for us. We hope the nice weather continues.
