What a lovely month we have had during June. As the restrictions have lifted slightly, we are enjoying the stories our children are
telling us, about them meeting up with Grandparents and relatives outdoors.

We shared some lovely moments, engaging in our exciting activities and we made some special memories with our Pre-school
children, as they graduated from Pre-school class. We are so delighted for them, as they soon embark on their next big journey of
Primary School. Before then though, we are looking forward to creating more memories with them during the Summer months.
Special thanks to all our Educarers and staff who made Graduations such a special day for our children, and thank you Chef Polina for
the amazing cake that she made.

We loved our Summer Festival, celebrating the Euros football tournament, and for Fathers Day, we got very creative and made some
lovely cards and artwork for them. Keep an eye out on our Social Media Channels for photos of our daily activities.
In this newsletter, we have shared some insight into the activities from each of our rooms that has taken place during the month of June.

Activities from our Baby Room

Summer allows lots of funny activities for children like going to the beach or the countryside and enjoying
weather and nature. The previous week they loved also playing with water, so that’s why we planned several
activities for our children to experience Summer and its leisure time. They played with water, putting their hands
and feet inside a bucket and also different objects like spoons, cups, strainers. They created a sensory bag
inspired by the ocean, putting inside water, soap, glitter, paint and shapes of fish made of foam. And then they
were exploring it.
The children enjoyed playing with sand, turning our room into a beach. I made sand with flour and baby oil and
they were exploring it and making sand castles.
In addition, they made a drawing of a beach sticking on it Summer items made of paper that were colored by
them with a spray filled with paint and water in the previous week.
Finally, they celebrated the Baking Day by painting cooking hats with a slice of pepper and they were exploring
and playing with dough
Our children love playing with animal toys and lately, they really enjoy dinosaur figures, they like making their
sounds and movements and being chased by them. That’s why I decided to do different activities about dinosaurs
to learn more about these creatures.
First of all, they were exploring dinosaur toys from toddler and wobbler room, so they were very excited as they
were new for them. They were listening about their features and they also played with them.
After that, we put the dinosaurs in a box with sand (flour and baby oil) and they were exploring. They had lots of
fun making sounds and through sand.
The next activity was creating a dinosaur with their handprints using paint and sand. The result was wonderful
and we decorated our windows with them. The children did a great job putting sand in the paint that we used for
drawing the dinosaurs.
We kept on learning about dinosaurs making a fossil. They were exploring dough (salt, flour and water) and then I
made several circles of it where the children put their dinosaur toys. We let them dry and we had their shapes in
the dough.
Finally they filled a plastic bag with water and put a dinosaur toy inside, and then we’ll keep them in a freezer.
Once frozen we removed the ice from the bag and the children had great fun playing and watching the ice melt to
reveal the dinosaurs inside.

Our Wobbler & Toddler Room News

The children always want to cook meals for their classmates; they enjoy using the kitchen items and playing in the restaurant
area. So we did a Master Chef week in crèche. We made two special chef’s hat all together with white cardboard and white
paper, and the children drew their favourite kitchen items on the hats. We also did a small chef hat for each child, so they
could bring it home. With a big box we made an oven. The children painted it and then we decorate it. To use the oven we
needed a big wooden spatula, so we made one with cardboard and paint. Then each child made their pizza sticking the
tomato and the other toppings with glue into the “base”. To “cook” the pizza the children took turns to do a role play with the
oven. With the special chef’s hat they put the pizza in the oven using the spatula. They enjoyed the activity and feeling like real
chefs.
On Thursday we celebrated “baking day” baking cinnamon cookies. While making the cookies the children got to take turn
wearing the chef’s hat and mixing the ingredients together. Finally we did a recipe book with the most typical dish of the
countries we are all from in the class (Romania, India, Italy, Sudan, Spain, Ireland, Moldova and Lithuania). We all enjoyed
doing the role plays and the materials. All children lived a real master chef experience!
The children always want to play with the animals and the animal puzzles. Also they love to sing old McDonald’s song, so this
week we learned about “The Farm”. We had great fun making animals sounds and they were excited imitating the animals.
We made a big cow with a box, painted it all together and we use it to do a lovely role play where they had to milk the cow.
We put a glove full of milk on the bottom of the box, did some small holes and they just had to press it to get the milk! They
loved acting like real farmers, and when everyone had their glasses of milk we enjoyed a picnic in the garden drinking the
milk. We decided to build our own farm in the class, so each child chooses their favourite farm animal, and they painted it.
Then we stick all the animals in our farm wall, they were so proud of the result. Finally with small cartoon plates we did
animal’s mask, so they could go home with it and show it to their parents. We had lot of fun during the week and enjoyed
learning through play and different role plays and songs.
With the sunny and warm weather all the children like to go to the beach with their families during the weekend and to play
with water during our garden time. So this week we focused on the topic ‘the beach’. In the morning we talked about the
beach, how is it, what do they do when they go there, if they go into the water, what can they see there (sand, waves, seashell,
etc). They were so happy sharing their experiences and telling us their stories. We organized a few messy plays to let the kids
feel different textures and materials. We died blue Spaghettis and prepared iced painting (putting paint with water into the
freezer) and they enjoyed doing their own ocean.
Using the iced painting we painted their feet, they put them in a paper, and with their footprint we drew a flip flop. We also
prepared a real beach experience in the garden. We put a big box full of sand and another with water and plastic fish. We
gave them materials to build their own sandcastles and they loved it.
Finally this week we had to say goodbye to our lovely friend Amoha who is moving to abroad. We made a card with flowers
using the children’s fingerprints so she won’t forget us, and of course we gave her lots of love on her last day!!!

Pre-school Room News

Our children loved to sunbath
in the good weather and pretend to “swim in the swimming pool”
that they made with blocks in the garden.

We made a summer mural where the children where they decorated their own fish. They loved to look at their fish and
show it to their friends. They also made an ice-cream craft, painting and decorating two cardboard squares and a fan
painting the half of a plate. They made a summer small world painting a box in blue and yellow and adding glue and glitter on
it. They really like to do it. Then they were colouring some summer pictures and they stick on the box.

The children also do a lot of indoor games such as
musical chair, bowling, Simon say and dance. They had a lot of fun doing it.

We can’t forget that we celebrated the “world baking day” making muffins. They loved to mix the ingredients all together as if they
were chefs.

The first week of June the children wanted to know why some objects were attracted to the magnet and others were not. The
children had the opportunity to explore with the magnets. They had a mix of non-magnetic objects (such as pencils, books, plastic
animals, links…) with they loved to discover which of them were caught by the magnets and which ones were not. Also, they were
building shapes with the magnets like “houses” and “balls. The children also made a science activity to see how far something
magnetic will “jump” as you put a magnet closer to it.

This week the children were playing with water, fishes, sponges, strainers, fishes… outside and they really enjoyed playing with it.

During this week, the children were also playing with sand. They had a lot of fun with the sand, digging, piling up, burying objects
inside the sand, making castles with it.

The children also did a circuit in the garden. They had to balance themselves crossing a line of blocks, and then
they had to jump and roll in the mat. Then they had to dunk a ball in a basket and ride a bike back to the
starting point. They loved cheering each other on while they did the circuit.

The second week of June, fish and literacy caught their attention. The children love to play with the water and
the plastic fishes, and they read a lot of books. Each had their favourite. We made a lot of art and crafts about
fishes. The children paint seahorses with plates, they decorate and colour fishes with markers, and they also
made a star fish with rice Krispy. They really love to do it. The children also had the opportunity to play with
water, fishes, and kitchen tools in the garden and in the class and they had a lot of fun doing it.

This week the children read a lot of books, the one they enjoyed most was “where the wild things are”, “room on
the broom” and “time to share”. This last book gave rise to a chat about the importance of sharing, and we also
did a craft about it where the children painted their hands and ones dry, they had to draw something that
they could share with their friends.

We also celebrated Euro 2020. The children paint a box in white (our football goal) and they play with them and the soccer balls in the garden. They had a lovely time
scoring goals.
