As the Autumn season truly kicked in, we enjoyed lots of lovely fun learning. We loved learning about the Farm, Autumn colours and materials and
transport too. We celebrated Halloween towards the end of the month with lots of Halloween arts and crafts, games and Dress Up Days.
Our children also loved Pet Day and learning all about different world cuisines during World Food Day. During Beep Beep Day and Road Safety
Week, we did lots of games and activities to help us learn about the importance of road safety.

Activities from our Baby Room
This month in the baby room, we did lots of activities as we are coming into autumn. The babies explored the leaves that are falling off the trees, and painted the leaves. They stuck them to a tree to create a special tree in our baby room.
In October we noticed the babies were interested in the kitchen toys and the various food in it. We did lots of cooking and using kitchen equipment. We were also interested in farm animals we were reading books, singing songs, and
looking at different photos of the farm animals. On the last week of October, the baby room were do our decorations like painting and sticking different Halloween items like ghosts, pumpkins, Frankenstein, etc.
Stories from our Wonderful Wobbler Room
This month was fantastic because we talked about the beginning of the autumn and we also celebrated one of the most important event “Halloween”.
The first week we talked about Autumn, the colours of the season collecting leaves with different shapes, nuts and acorns. We made a sensorial box for the children and they enjoyed a lot. We also decorated the classroom and added little animals like squirrels, owls, etc. and learn the song “leaves and falling”.
The second week we talked about “the farm”, the animals that live there, their sounds, shapes and what they eat. We played with the animals of our room, we hidden them in boxes with sand, paper and rice and learn the song “old McDonald had a farm”
The third week we talked about tractors and trucks. We played with vehicles around the room pushing them and making sounds. When we went outside we listened the sounds from the street to discover “what was that noise” and we learn the song “the wheels on the bus”.
The last week we celebrate Halloween. We all dress up and enjoyed a lot telling stories about it. We decorated the classroom with pumpkins, ghosts, witches, bats, etc. we made a witch and a pumpkin with salt dough to bring home.
We enjoyed with Chinese shades and candles in the darkness.
Tales from our Toddler Room
In October the toddlers explore the topic of Autumn with all the trees falling in our garden everyone wanted to bring one inside and make arts& crafts. We used different fruits to make some stamping with paint and taste different fruits like blueberries, raspberries, etc.
The toddlers explore the farm and the machines, they make their own farm and played with the animals in the room and make arts & crafts using paint, gluing and sticking.
We also discovered the forest animals like bear, owl and we did arts & crafts about this.
The big special day was around the corner so we starter to decorate our classroom with all of Halloween decorations and we had a huge party where everyone was dress up.
Pre-School Room News
Preschool 1
This month we explorer some things so important like autumn, transport, farm, and Halloween.
First with the farm we did our own farm with cardboard boxes and sand we use our animals from the room, and we had lots of fun doing messy play. We also made loads of arts & crafts with different farm animals and enjoyed so much with them.
After we discovered the Autumn with all the leaves starting to fall in our garden, we did different activities such as “our landscape in Autumn” or decorate the classroom with leaves.
Every Wednesday we have Spanish morning we listen to Spanish songs and learn how to dance flamenco; we did games and actions songs in Spanish.
We enjoyed so much with transports. We had Beep Beep Day, we create traffic lights and made games to represent how to walk on the road. They also made “our road” the children painted their feet and walked on top of the paper (road) while and educarer was using the sings “go” and “stop”.
Finally, we decorated all classroom with different items about Halloween and we dressed up and our educarers like crayons! We had so much fun with our Halloween disco.
Preschool 2
In the first week of October, we have explored about Ireland and start to talk about Irish traditions. We have made flags and all the children had lots of fun, cutting, and gluing the colours of the flag.
During the next week, we have carried out activities related to the farm. We explore animal sounds and made animal’s crafts. Our favourite song was “old McDonald had a farm”.
In the third week of October, the main theme has been Halloween. They had a lot of fun making ghost and a witch mask. We have decorated the whole class together and they have put on their best costumes and the educarers dress as crayons!
Preschool 3
October is always an exciting time for pre-schoolers as they prepare for Halloween. We had a very busy month in preschool 3.One of the children’s favourite toys of the rooms is the farm, so we explore the farm we made lots of different farm animals and learned what sounds they make with “old McDonald had a farm”.
Along with the farm animals, the class were interested in finding our what animals live in the sea, using sand and paint the pre-schoolers made their own beach for the room, they create different sea creatures to go in our beach.
Of course everyone loved dress up day for Halloween where we celebrated with an Halloween disco, we made our own Halloween decorations that we displayed around the room.
After-School Adventures
Afterschool’s first task to welcome the new month was to talk about the new season and taking the autumn as a reference, we made cards for family and friends to show everybody the elements, like leaves and the colours like red, yellow and orange.
Also to celebrate the Irish road safety day and Beep Beep Day, the children played the game green for go and red for stop in the garden.
We also learned about animals and specially farm animals to explore a new topic and doing it through activities that they leave like following and painting.
Finally we prepared the afterschool favourite celebration that is Halloween making decorations, masks, cards and also talking about the elements of this celebration for the party that we did in the creche in which we dressed up with costumes and we ate orange Halloween cookies that we made.
