A Spring in our Step

As we stepped into Spring at the start of February, it felt like there was a change in the air.

A change in the brightness of the day, with the evenings getting a little bit longer, and even a change in the growth around us, with the little peaks of daffodils slowing emerging up from their sleepy roots.

It is a welcome change, and we are looking forward to much more that the Spring season brings to us.

Our children have loved being together again; learning about Spring, insects, colours and their favourite thing to play with – dinosaurs! We had enjoyed learning from each other too, and just all have fun together. We are still missing all of our friends who have yet to return back to crèche yet with us, but we look forward to when that will be again. Hopefully very soon.

In the meantime, we hope our children at home have been enjoying the videos we have posted on our Social Media Channels. And we hope they are enjoying some of our curriculum learning at home too.

Feel free to share any activities you have been enjoying at home with us.

In this bi-monthly newsletter, we have shared some insight into the activities from each of our rooms, that all took place over the first two weeks in February.

Our next newsletter for you will be in four weeks time, in the middle of March, where we will share more news with you on what our children have been doing. Stay Safe.

Activities From Our Baby Room

In our Baby Room, we love song time. So when we were learning about our colours in February, we sang songs too all about the colours of the rainbow.

Our Educarer Cristina made a colour wheel and we played this together, repeating the name of the colours.

We painted on our hands and feet to make paw prints and our babies loved the feeling of paint on their little toes, we enjoyed lots of fresh air outside and played with our farm animals too. We loved imitating their sounds.

Stories From Our Wonderful Wobblers

Our wobblers painted a giant traffic light system and learned the colors of the traffic lights. We went into the garden and sang the “Walking Walking” song, while playing Stop and Go at the same time.

We had a “real” highway in the middle of our class! We took all our bikes from the garden, a few cars and trucks and had lots of fun driving around the room. It was so much fun.

Our Colours theme was fun, where we felt the textures of the paint with some sensory bags where we could see the mixture of colors.

We painted a giant rainbow with our hands and felt some different textures from gluing some colour paper on it.

For our Spring theme, we created our own Spring sensory bottles with lots of materials such as real flowers, pompoms, glitter and water, and we cooked super yummy choco crispy cupcakes to bring home and for Puzzle Day we created our own puzzles with the pictures of things that we love like transports and the Circus.

Tails From Our Toddlers Room

Our toddlers love to build and construct things. So we used our blocks to build towers and stack them up very high. We went outside and play with the snow to build a real snowman and our children we learning about the difference between the warmth of inside the room and the cold outside.

For Puzzle Day, we created a big puzzle of snowman and after we was playing with it.

Our children loved to play to “Get Me!” game with our Educarers, where our Educarers pretended to be the ‘Monsters’ to ‘catch’ the children for a hug.

We painted with different shapes in various colors an learned some words about colors in Spanish. We cooked a healthy banana brownie, without sugar and flour, which was super tasty too.

Preschool Room Adventures

Our preschool children had a full two weeks of activities, which included them learning about dragons, dinosaurs, insects and bugs and St Valentines Day.

We learned about the human body made small abstract skeletons with lollypop sticks and a big one with cardboard box. Making an X-ray scan was great fun. We made this by painting onto black pages and adding pasta for the bones.

We played football, basketball and Catch outside and talked about the different things we can see now that it is Spring.

Baking is also one of our favourite things to do, so we made some sweet bread, which was very tasty.
