Pre-School Care

Links Childcare provides Pre-School care in all of our locations. The title of our Pre-School curriculum is Full STEAM ahead: shaping bright tomorrows ……. highlighting our commitment to a curriculum built on the pillars of SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING and MATHS but critically underpinned with the ARTS. 

The curriculum is based entirely on the children’s interests.  These are recorded on a white Bubble  Board. Each child’s photo is placed beside a speech bubble where the Educarers record an interest or a comment or a ‘word of wisdom’ from the child during the day. There may  also be some yellow ‘postits’ beside the children’s photos – this is where there are extra ideas that are just too important to miss!   On a Friday, the Educarers plan the following week’s curriculum and supporting activities, based on the recorded ideas, comments and interests.  The children are, therefore, in charge. The Educarers just support and provoke the learning, which is entirely play-based.

Morning Greeting

Each day your child will be warmly welcomed by their Educarer and you will be invited to share a few words about the night's sleep, early morning mood and other news. It helps your child to settle if you use this time to positively affirm the crèche and the Educarer, with a smile and a friendly chat. Your child will join the group with more confidence and ease as a result.

Handovers

The Educarers/Management Team will conduct a handover with parents/guardians during the collection period. If you wish to discuss anything with these staff members please do so at this stage as it can be very busy during morning greeting.

Drop-off and Collection times

Children attending pre-school half day (9am-2pm) or sessional hours (9:30am -1pm) should arrive at the Pre-School room at the allocated start time. The team will meet you at the drop-off zone at the allocated collection time. If you require to drop or collect your child outside of these hours, please arrange this with the Crèche Manager.

After-school billing information

After-school Fees are payable over a 12 month/52 week period. Standard After-school Fees will apply during all mid-terms and school holidays including summer breaks, these additional fees will cover your child’s regular afternoon care as per normal during these breaks. Should your child wish to attend full day care over the mid-term breaks and school holidays including summer breaks then an additional fee will apply for the additional mornings and/or days attended during this time. This fee is in addition to their Standard After-school Fees.
