An opportunity has arisen for a Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant in Links Childcare, where the successful candidate will join a busy head office team in a full-time role at an exciting time of expansion for the business.

The role is essential to the effective running of an accounts department in childcare, as accurate and timely registration of funding is required to ensured parents can benefit from their full funding entitlements.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate who has experience in a childcare office environment, although it will be suited to candidates with experience in an accounts department.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Registration of children for ECCE and NCS funding programmes
  • Child attendance record management and reporting
  • Liaising with parents in relation to child funding
  • Communicating with TUSLA and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration Youth to resolve exceptions in child funding
  • Filing of audit documents
  • Management of funding and filing deadlines
  • Working with the accounts and billing teams to ensure accurate funding and billing
  • Administration in adjacent accommodation booking role
  • Ad-hoc office administration

Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience in an office environment
  • Ability to work independently to reliably meet monthly reporting deadlines
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team in a busy and demanding environment
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong numerical ability
  • Strong organizational & problem-solving skills
  • Relevant experience is desirable
  • Relevant qualifications is desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Being the initial point of contact for creche enquiries (parent enquiries re child place availability) received online, by phone and by email and general parent correspondence
  • Providing initial correspondence to parents which includes our creche availability and appropriate pricing
  • Scheduling suitable viewing appointments for all creche locations
  • Issuing enrolment paperwork, seeking approval of places from the admissions manager and processing of required deposit payments
  • Supporting the admissions team in the managing of current and future availability across the 13 creches and the creche waiting lists.
  • Providing assistance when required with Villa reservations and managing availability
  • Ensure the Databases (Admissions & Villa Reservations) are kept up to date at all times
  • Supporting the greater head office team by providing annual leave cover when required
  • General office duties to include but not limited to supporting our HR team with data entry, filing and document scanning, ordering of office supplies etc
  • Adhoc duties as required

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills
  • At least 3+ years office administration experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Annual Leave Accrual Programme after 2 years
  • Have excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent phone manner
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to respond to ever changing demands of a busy office
  • Excellent attention to detail

Requirements

About the Role:

The focus of the Assistant Manager role is to aid and support the Manager and Deputy Manager by assuming a specific responsibility assigned and more generally to support them in their daily work as indicated below.


Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to, and in this order, Deputy Manager, Crèche Manager and Regional Manager.
  • Covering for the Deputy Manager in his/her absence.
  • Encouraging Teams and supporting personal and professional development
  • Monitoring Employees performance, identifying areas for further training and development
  • Ensuring all rooms (including toilets) in an assigned area are maintained to the standard expected at Links Childcare
  • Ensuring all the rooms in an assigned area, fully comply with TUSLA regulations and DES standards (if applicable) and are ready for inspection at any time.
  • Ensuring the room routines/programmes are adhered to at all times. Ensuring the Links Childcare curriculum is implemented in all childcare rooms in an assigned area.
  • Ensuring staff/child ratios are correct at all times and communicating to the Crèche Manager any concerns in this area.
  • Ensuring all staff in an assigned area are catering for the needs of the children – physical, social, emotional and intellectual
  • Preparing for and attending yearly events i.e. Graduation & Christmas concerts (& Parent/Teacher Meetings if applicable), outside of normal working hours.
  • Assisting with the drafting and implementation of the monthly activities schedule.
  • Other specific responsibilities as assigned by the Regional/Creche Manager
